The weather has been so crazy lately… first it’s hot and summery, we get a glimpse of fall then but to 80 degree weather! When the weather doesn’t want you to put you summer clothing away you have to get creative. I love pairing this OTS gingham top with the one of the hottest trends for fall the cropped raw hem denim and creeper shoes for the perfect transitional look.
I really can not believe how lucky I am to attend NYFW, to be able to see all of these amazing designers is really a dream come true. The energy in NYC during fashion week is unlike no other, the excitement, the fashion, the feeling of renewal. Every show/presentation I attended this year was absolutely stunning and already having me yearning for Spring! Below is my entire recap.
Every year my husband and I go back to Kennebunkport Maine to celebrate our wedding anniversary. If you don’t know about Kennebunkport, you should! This little slice of heaven is a quaint New England town surrounded by water and is the quintessential Maine. Filled with cute shops, amazing food, and rocky beaches you can’t find a better getaway.
Wearing: Zara Tunic (similar here) | Zara Flares | Jeffrey Campbell Clogs
Everyone knows how much I love my all black outfits, they are always chic and always in style. However that doesn’t mean they don’t need an upgrade. I decided to layer unexpected pieces to make this all-black outfit more interesting. Playing with proportions and volume by mixing a long tunic with large flares giving this black-on-black look a fresh new take.
I have been inspired with seeing all these stories on how to style a maybe then boring button up into something fashion forward…Cue me raiding my husband’s closets! I took his stripe work shirt and gave it new life! Paired with this AMAZING (I’m obsessed with anything lace-up!) skirt from Romwe. It fits like a glove and gives me everything I wanted from a skirt and more. Below are instructions on how to re-work your boyfriend, husband, own button up shirt.
1. Button your shirt from the bottom up to your chest, wherever you want the top to hit, keeping your arms out.
2. Pull both sleeves to the front and tie in a knot. Make sure when tying in a knot to go opposite ways, meaning if the first tie is right over left then do left over right the second time. This will keep the knot centered.
3. Adjust the top to puff a little to make it a sweetheart neckline and that’s it!
When you think of overalls a couple things come to mind… childlike, 90’s, can’t pull off. I’m here to tell you while all of those may be true pulling them off isn’t one of them. This white denim overall dress from H&M is the upgraded way to get the look. The streamline style allows this piece to be fun and sporty or minimalist chic, either way you can pull it off!
Have you been into Banana Republic lately? If not, go! Right. Now. They have so much amazing new styles perfect for anyone’s taste. I could have stayed in the store for hours but landed on this amazing polka dot shirt and skirt set. They weren’t next to each other but I love how they paired together as a set to create an outfit that looks like a dress yet you can wear each other them separately as well. The small details of each piece is what really makes it in my option, the small ruffles at the end of the skirt, the tie-neck on the top, the gathered fabric on the sleeves… Obsessed may be an understatement!
What happens when your favorite trends merge together?! Pure happiness! I love classic B&W gingham (hello anything black and white!) and add a cami dress with frayed ends and you have a perfect look my friends! I love this dress from Mango so much, it can be worn as shown for a casual look, dressed up, or paired with a tee underneath for a throwback 90s look. Best part, it’s so comfy and lightweight, perfect for the summer season.
Where do I start… this was a trip of a lifetime. My mother has always wanted to visit Italy her entire life so for her 60th and my 30th birthday I couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate not only with my mother but sister and husband too.
We started in Tuscany, visited stunning vineyards (can you say Under the Tuscan Sun!?) sampling delicious wines and tasty foods with the more gorgeous views. I could have stayed there forever. We enjoyed larger and smaller vineyards and got a chance to talk to the families that owned the wineries. For my 30th birthday my husband surprised me with an air balloon ride at dawn over Tuscany.. I have no words for this, it was beyond beautiful and something I will remember for the rest of my life.
After a quick stop in Florence we headed to Rome. I had a chance to study in Rome while I was in college so it felt like going home to me. The hustle and bustle of city life mixed with such history give Rome a place like no other. I love walking everywhere, finding little restaurants and stores to stop in while visiting the “go-to” places, my favorite is Piazza Navona!
Our last stop was the Amalfi Coast, you can’t even believe you are still in Italy, you feel like you are transported on a island. The architecture of the building set into the mountainside is unreal. We staying at the Art Hotel in Positano (view were amazing!) and was the perfect spot to end our trip. Beachside and so relaxing! Our last night there we headed to Le Sirenuse (if you have the chance this is a must) the hotel is beyond stunning. Every room is the prettiest space I have ever seen (talk about #goals) with view that can’t be compared.
The trip was such a dream and I loved reliving it! Please let me know if you have any questions or if you are planning a trip. I would love to send over more recommendations! And on that note, where should I head next?
I had the amazing opportunity to work with Banana Republic a few months ago and finally able to share the pictures from their Spring/Summer campaign #YourLiveStyled. It was such a dream come true, I was able to choose clothing from their newest collection to wear, got my hair and make-up done, and shot on the iconic NYC Highline with amazing street-style photographer John Hillin… what could be better! I tend to wear neutrals and that was no exception here. First look with the paper-bag trousers, striped tee, and denim jacket was one of my favorites. It was causal yet chic, put together, and timeless… exactly what I think of when I hear Banana Republic. Add this amazing graphic clutch and lace up heels and voilà, perfect outfit. My other looks include my favorites trends; lace-up dresses, frayed ends, and snake-skin (I mean that jacket right?!). Hope you love them as much as I do!
